How to Add, Change, or Delete a Profile Video on Facebook

Besides a profile picture, Facebook also allows users to add a profile video. You can take or upload a profile video of up to 7 seconds. Your profile video appears just like a profile picture and can be viewed by everyone.

How to add a profile video on Facebook

On iOS

Step 1: Open the Facebook app.

Step 2: Tap on the three lines icon in the bottom-right corner.

Step 3: Tap your profile icon at the top to go to your profile.

Step 4: Tap your profile picture.

Step 5: Select Take a New Profile Video to record a new video or Select Profile Video to choose a video from your phone.

Step 6: Record a new video or select a video from your device.

Step 7: Tap Next.

On Android

Step 1: Open the Facebook app on your device.

Step 2: Tap the three lines icon in the upper-right corner.

Step 3: Tap on your profile icon at the top to go to your profile.

Step 4: Tap your profile picture.

Step 5: Select either Take New Profile Video to take a new video or Select Profile Video to upload a video from your phone.

Step 6: Record a video or select one from your device. 

Step 7: Enter a caption (optional) and tap Use.

You can tap Edit to trim, mute, crop your video or pick a thumbnail from your video and set as your profile picture. Remember to tap Save when you're done.

Note: Right now this feature isn't available to all mobile users.

How to delete a profile video on Facebook

On Desktop

Step 1: Go to your albums.

Step 2: Click Videos.

Step 3: Hover over the video you want to delete and click on the pen icon in the upper-right corner.

Step 5: Click Delete video.

Step 6: Click Confirm.

On Mobile

Step 1: Go to your profile page.

Step 2: Tap Photos.

Step 3: Tap Albums and select Videos.

Step 4: Tap the video you want to delete.

Step 5: Tap the three dots icon in the bottom right corner and select Delete.

Note: You cannot delete the profile video you have just uploaded. Instead, you may need to wait a few minutes.
