How to block or unblock an email address in Yahoo Mail

It's easy to block emails or messages from people you don't want to hear from. This article shows you how to block an email address in Yahoo! Mail so that you never get messages from that sender again.

How to block an email address in Yahoo

Step 1: Go to Yahoo and log into your Yahoo Mail.

Step 3: Open an email from the person you want to block. If you already know this person's email address, skip to Step 5.

Step 4: Right-click the email address at the top and select Copy email address.

Step 5: Click Settings in the upper-right corner of the page. A drop-down menu will appear.

Step 6: Select More Settings.

Step 7: Click Security and privacy in the left column.

Step 6: Click + Add near Blocked addresses. Enter or paste (Right-click/Paste or Ctrl+V) the email address that you want to block into the Address field. 

Step 7: Click Save.

You will no longer receive any messages from this email address in your inbox. You can block all addresses from a single business or domain, not just @yahoo.com.

How to unblock an email address in Yahoo

Step 1: Go to Yahoo and log into your Yahoo Mail account.

Step 2: Click Settings in the top right corner of the page and select More Settings.

Step 3: Click Security and privacy.

Step 4: Hover the mouse over the email address that you wish to unblock and click the trash icon.

What happens when you block someone in Yahoo?

When you block someone, you will no longer get emails from that person. They won't even know they are being blocked. But they may still be able to find out if their email has been blocked. When someone on your blocked list tries to send you an email, that person may get a message that the email couldn't be sent or that there was a server error.
