How to delete and block friends on Snapchat

This article describes how to remove and block friends from your Snapchat friends list. When you delete a buddy, they will no longer have access to your private snaps and stories. Nonetheless, they can still examine your public photos.

How to delete friends on Snapchat

Step 1: Open the Snapchat app on your device.

Step 2: Tap Friends in the bottom-left corner or swipe left to go to the Chat page.

Step 3: Tap the Search box at the bottom and type the name of the person you want to delete from your friends list.

Step 4: A list of results that match your search will appear. Now long-press the person's name.

Step 5: A pop-up window will appear. Tap Settings at the bottom.

Step 6: Tap Remove Friend.

Step 7: Tap Remove (iOS) or Yes (Android) to confirm your action.

How to block someone on Snapchat

Follow step 1 to step 5 above. Then, select Block.

Tap Block (iOS) or Yes (Android) to confirm your decision.

What happens when you block someone on Snapchat?

When you block a user on Snapchat, they will no longer be able to access your content, send you Chats or snaps, or search for you by username. If you block them, they won't be alerted. Step 1: Open the Snapchat app.

Step 2: Tap  in the top left corner to go to your Profile page.

Step 3: Tap the Gear icon at the top right.

Step 4: Scroll down and tap Blocked.

Step 5: Tap X next to the person you want to unblock.
