How to delete Snapchat messages, conversations, and stories
This article explains how to clean up Snapchat, whether it's a discussion you wish to conceal, an embarrassing photo or story, or a message you wish you hadn't sent.
How to delete Snapchat conversations in Chat Feed
To delete the entire conversations:
Step 1: Open the Snapchat app on your device.
Step 2: Tap in the top left corner to go to your Profile Page.
Step 3: Tap the Gear icon in the top right corner to access your Settings.
Step 4: Scroll down and tap Clear Conversations. It's under the Account Actions section.
Step 5: A list of contacts you have had conversations with will appear. Tap X beside the name of the person you want to clear the conversation.
How to delete Snapchat messages
Snapchat introduced the ability to unsend messages in June. This feature enables users to remove or "unsend" a message sent using the application. If a contact has already viewed the message, you cannot do this action. It deletes the message from all mobile devices.
Step 1: Open the Snapchat app and go to the chat where you sent the message.
Step 2: Tap and hold the message you want to delete.
Step 3: A dialog box will appear. Tap Delete.
Step 4: Confirm your action.
Your message has been removed. Users in the chat or group chat will not be able to view your message. However, they will be notified if a chat was removed.
How to delete Snapchat stories
Snapchat stories last 24 hours by default. You are free to remove it whenever you choose.
Step 1: Open the Snapchat app.
Step 2: Tap in the top left corner.
Step 3: Tap My Story.
Step 4: Tap the story you want to delete to open it.
Step 5: Tap the Trash icon and select Delete to confirm your action.
Before deleting a Snap or Story, you can tap the Download icon after opening it.
