Twitter Login Verification

In order to increase the security of your account, Twitter offers login verification feature. After you enable this feature, you will need to have both your password and the code sent to your mobile number to log into your account. Follow our steps below to enable or disable Twitter login verification.

How to enable Twitter Login Verification

Note: To enable login verification, you need to:

1. Have a phone number associated with your account.
2. Confirm your email address.
3. Confirm your phone number.

Step 1: Go to Twitter and log into your account.

Step 2: Go to Go to Account Settings Page. 

Step 3: In Security section, click Set up login verification.

Step 4: Read the overview instruction about how login verification works and click Start.

Step 5: Enter your password and click Verify.

Step 6: Click Send code.

Step 7: Twitter will send you an SMS containing a verification code. Check your mobile and enter the code into the box and click Submit to confirm your number.

If you don't receive any code, click I didn't receive the code and follow the instruction to get one.

Step 8: Click Get backup code.

We recommend you store this backup code. You can write it down or save a screenshot of it. This will help you access your account and verify your identity if you lose your mobile phone or change your phone number.

Step 9: Click Done.

Once you enable this feature, whenever you log into your Twitter account, a six-digit login code will be sent via text message to your mobile phone. Check your phone for the code and enter it to access your account.

How to disable Twitter Login Verification 

Step 1: Go to Account Settings Page.

Step 2: In Security section, click Review your login verification methods.

Step 3: By default, the Text message option is on. Click Edit.

Step 4: Click Off then click Save changes.

Step 5: Enter your password to save changes to your account and click Yes.
